The King’s Arms is situated directly opposite the entrance to the Brontë Parsonage Apartments. Built in the 17th Century, the building originally served as the manorial court for the area.
In 1841, the innkeeper was Enoch Thomas, a close friend of Branwell Brontë; Branwell was a regular patron. The cellar served as the local undertaker’s mortuary in the 19th Century.
The King’s Arms continues to operate as a pub to this day.
